The School of Accounting and Finance Young Alumni Award has been established to recognize the accomplishments of School of Accounting and Finance alumni from the University of Waterloo.
The Young Alumni Award, created in 2009, was established to provide tangible recognition of young alumni who have distinguished themselves through their professional achievements, and community and public service.
The award will examine the accomplishments of the nominee based on the following:

In this document, School of Accounting and Finance alumni will be broadly defined to include graduates from the School of Accounting and Finance undergraduate and/or graduate programs, graduates from the Arts Accountancy program, the Mathematics Chartered Accountancy program and Biotechnology Chartered Accountancy program
Award Nomination Procedure
The School of Accounting and Finance welcomes nominations for its Young Alumni Award from anyone (alumni, students, faculty, staff, retirees, and members of the public) familiar with the work, character and/or achievements of a UW School of Accounting and Finance alumnus.
To nominate an individual for the Young Alumni Award, an online nomination form must be completed and submitted.
Where there is not sufficient room to include all of the pertinent information on the nomination form, nominators are invited to attach additional information and submit directly to Alexandra Lippert, SAF Alumni Officer.
Award Selection Procedure
1. Call for nominations continues throughout the year. Friends, family,
colleagues, faculty members and other alumni may nominate alumni
candidates.
2. All nominations will be reviewed by the Selection Committee, which
consists of the Director of the School of Accounting and Finance, SAF
alumni, faculty, staff and past award recipients.
3. The Selection Committee will select the Young Alumni Award winner.
4. The Young Alumni Award winner will be notified by the President of
the UW Accounting Alumni Association.
5. Alumni nominated but not chosen by the Selection Committee will
remain in a nomination pool for consideration in subsequent years.
6. The School of Accounting and Finance Young Alumni Award is
presented in the fall at the School of Accounting and Finance Awards
Dinner (subject to change).
Nomination Deadline
All nominations must be received by April 30th. Nominations received after April 30th will be considered in the following year.

In the second year of the SAF Young Alumni Award, the School of Accounting and Finance
is proud to have presented the award to Shikha Gandhi (MAcc '04), who has made an outstanding contribution through her professional achievements and community and public service.
